Sea green eyes focused on the task, the golden tom lowered himself to the ground and focused his vision. The mouse he had been following for a ways had a fawn like pelt. However that wouldn't last, he was determined to make it someones next meal. Shifting his weight he continued to watch. The whiskers on the small rodent twitched as he nibbled on a seed.
Just a few more seconds...."
Bunching up his hind legs he leaped towards the the mouse. TO his dismay the small creature escaped his grasp. He couldn't believe he missed such an easy task! The large golden tom flicked his ears in annoyance. He knew the high pitched squeak the mouse gave off would alert the other prey that danger was near.
Foxdung....I could have caught that!" Lionpaw knew he wasn't a good hunter. No matter how hard his mentor tried, Lionpaw just didn't catch on. With a hiss of frustration the tom stomped his paws into the dirt and started padding towards another direction. Perhaps he could find something there.

The silver tabby she-cat had been roaming the forest all day. She was originally on a patrol but she didn't want to go back home. Not just yet. Her blue eyes jumped when a flash of a golden pelt moved past her. Clearly the tom didn't notice her. With an amused twitch of her whiskers she turned to follow. Why was Lionpaw so grumpy all the time?
The she-cat moved through the forest silently and watched him. He appeared to be mumbling something about not getting a catch? Was he really that bad? Clearly an apprentice at his age would know how to hunt."Lionpaw...why do you always storm through the forest like that?"

The golden tom turned around to be nearly nose to nose with the much younger silver tabby named Silverpaw. He raised a brow and snorted. "Whats it to you?" He didn't have to answer to any body. He was Lionpaw. He would be leader of ThunderCLan one day he knew it! He would be Lionstar one day! The thought almost made him giddy but he tried not to show it. Instead he just turned and gave Silverpaw the cold shoulder.
"If you will excuse me now, ThunderClan's future leader needs to be on his way back to camp. That way the other apprentices can dote on how awesome I am." The bold older apprentice mewed. As he did so, he brushed his fur against the she-cat. Perhaps attracting her would add to his fan base. Who knows.

The silver she-cat just let out a giggle. This tom was so funny. She rolled her eyes as the golden tom made his first remark. Did he realize how stuck up he was? With a curious flick of her whiskers she parted her jaws to speak."Well, I was just wondering, since any other cat could have caught that mouse.." she retorted. She liked creating problems. She was good at it.
When the golden tom brushed his fur against hers she felt herself grow warm. However his words, Future leader of ThunderClan quickly killed that slight feeling."If by the cats thinking your awesome you mean the kits, power to you head back." Two could play at this game. The silver she-cat walked past him and as she did her silver coat brushed his. She lashed her tail against his flank and slid it up to his muzzle. With a coy purr she continued on.
