Cat's Name Splashstar
Cat's Age 27 moons
Cat's Gender Shecat
Cat's clan Riverclan
Cat's Position Leader
Cat's Short Description A slender pale calico with amber and green eyes
Cat's Appearance There's no doubt why this she-cat was named Splash. Her pelt is a splash of colours. One would almost describe her as a calico. But instead of black, it is a pale grey, along with a pale peach colour on her pelt. Her chest, paws, and muzzle are white, but hardly any white patches are found anywhere else. Unlike some Riverclan cats, she has a slender build, very light with skinny legs and small paws. Her eyes are big, and very wide. One is a burning amber, while the other is a leaf green colour. A pink nose completes the look. As a warrior, her tail was taken off by a badger, so it is only two inches long. It affected her balance, but she's getting better at not tripping over her own paws now.
Cat's personality Splashstar is a wildcard if there ever was one. Once you get to know her, or at least you think you do, there is always a couple more layers to go until you get to know the real her. One can never figure out what she is thinking, and in truth, sometimes she can't either.
To most cats, Splashstar seems to be quite happy and social. She has a sweet image, and cats generally like her. She doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body. If something needs done, she is there, doing what is best for her clan and those around her. What is best for her is what is always last on her mind, and she'll take the blame for another cat in a heartbeat.
Well, that is all for a reason. In reality, Splashstar is always number one, and is looking out for herself above others. But she knows how to take blame and hate, and doesn't mind doing so for others, so that they trust and love her, and will do what she wants from them at a later date, without a moment's hesitation.
She can keep a calm front, there's no doubt about that. This leader can listen to cats all day, insulting her, criticizing her leadership, or just trying to make her mad. But Splashstar ignores it and plays it cool, and doesn't lose her cool. Once in a while, something will click inside of her, and all the built up rage comes out, in the form of harsh words, claws, or just plain throwing things around. So far, she has not had a rage fit in front of clanmates, so this side of her is hidden.
Always thinking. Splashstar thinks in a very manipulative way, unknown to those around her. Her logic and reasoning dances in circles, and sometimes she even confuses herself thinking so far into the future. Even when she's not thinking and does something out of instinct, she believes her instincts are all matched up, and will get her far in life.
Despite always thinking and manipulating others, Splashstar is a very paranoid cat. In her mind, every cat is out to get her, just waiting for a chance to strike. She feels she must stay a few pawsteps ahead to make sure her leadership stays strong, and she remains strong as well. Everything any cat does must have a dark motive behind it, and she is very untrusting.
Most of those, are just the inside layers. On the outside, she seems like a nice enough cat, usually smiling. This calico can be very dramatic in a funny way, usually making a big deal out of a molehill for others amusement. She is a vivid storyteller, and has a way with words. Looking at this she-cat, she just seems to ooze confidence, most likely why she was chosen as deputy and became leader. The internal fight is a fight well hidden.
Cat's History Splashstar was born to two regular Riverclan warriors 27 moons ago, along with two siblings. In order, they were Ripplekit, a grey tabby tom, Mosskit, a bright calico she-cat, and Splashkit, a pale calico she-cat. The two parents, Stoneclaw and Featherheart, were overjoyed, and with no complications, the little family was happy.
Oh sure, they were happy, but that didn't mean life was perfect, when is it ever perfect? Ripplekit and Mosskit ended up receiving most of their parent's attention. The two parents didn't mean to leave Splashkit out, but that's just how it went. The little kit started to become very dramatic at a young age, but instead of acting out, she was kind and sweet, because she knew if she acted out, her parents would be mad. So began the pale calico's two-faced life.
The three cats became apprentices, like all apprentices do one day. A young tom by the name of Brackenfang. He was an ambitious tom, unafraid to work and manipulate to gain his way to the tom. Splashpaw learned how to be a strong fight and hunter under his mentorship, but she also learned how to out-think the other cats, and was taught to never trust another cat 100%, leave no room to be stabbed in the back one day.
The two worked well together, and as Splashpaw grew, so did her desire to be leader. But she wasn't blind, and knew there was many cats worthy of being deputy. So she put on a sweet front. Cats generally liked her for being a funny, dramatic, kind she-cat, that would put the clan above herself. At 11 moons, she was made a warrior with her siblings. Ripplepaw became Rippleclaw, Mosspaw became Mosslight, and Splashpaw became Splashsong, for her kind sweet nature. It was something she laughed about at night with Brackenfang, was the clan really so blind?
Despite her goal of gaining power and darker nature, she would still work hard for her clan at any cost. This was proved when she was 18 moons old. A badger had been going around the territory for awhile, and had attacked her apprentice, Cloudpaw, leaving him injured and unable to train for a quarter moon. So Riverclan decided to strike. A patrol was made up, and they set off. They searched, and upon finding the badger, they attacked. It was a long and tiring battle, but when the badger was driven out, it was their deputy, Stormheart, that was on the ground, laying in a pool of his own blood. Splashsong and Rippleclaw carried him back to camp, and the clan mourned him.
Arriving back at camp, the medicine cat set off and looked after their injuries. In the heat of battle, Splashsong had forgotten, but the sting of a badger bite on her tail began to hurt once again. The medicine cat told her their was no chance of it healing as a whole, and told her she had to take it off. Splashsong agreed unwillingly, and the medicine cat went to work. Afterwards, Splashsong was left with only a bit of her tail left. The medicine cat swore to Splashsong and the leader that her tail would not affect her preformance as a warrior. The leader that moonhigh, named Splashsong as the deputy despite her injuries.
Splashsong was overjoyed that she had gained the position she wanted so quickly, but with the struggles of deputy came the struggles of not having a tail. Her balance was horribly off, and she would trip over her own paws. Multiple times, she had fallen into the river out of lack of balance. The leader expressed concern over how Splashsong could perform without her balance, and that deeply offended her. Her work to stay deputy was a social game, and with her manipulative ways, she kept her position, and has gained better balance after some moons.
Needless to say, those few moons of doubt whether his former apprentice would keep her position was a waiting game. Brackenfang was enraged that his former apprentice had gained power before he could. But he was also confident that once she had become leader, it was him who she would name deputy. Who else would Splashsong pick? The two faced the cruel world together, and would watch each other's backs so no other cat could stab them. It was only one cat away until he became deputy.
The old leader, blind to Brackenfang's plans, went out on patrol by herself, thinking about what to do with her clan. She was old, and on her last life, and wondering if it would just be better to retire sooner or later. Brackenfang took that moment to attack. With no cat around, he pinned the old leader down, and delivered a killing strike to the neck. Splashsong appeared, as the dying leader struggled to escape, to at least tell a cat of what Brackenfang had done.
The tom plead his case, stating how Splashsong and him could rule Riverclan, and it could be powerful. But Splashsong attacked him, and drove her old mentor out. With her dying words, the old leader forgave Splashsong and told her she would be a great leader. But the deputy, now leader, never told any cat why she chased out Brackenfang. This way, she could be the sole ruler of Riverclan. Oh sure, a deputy would be there, but she would have the power, and Brackenfang would turn around, and instead of protecting her back, would one day stab her.
Splashsong went back with the leader's body and explained what happened, heading off to the Moonpool right away for her lives. The ceremony was peaceful, and she went back to camp as Splashstar, the leader of Riverclan. Brackenfang has yet to be seen again, and she believes the rogue life may have taken his life, and he hunts with the Dark Forest now, although she is not one to write off her former mentor so quickly. The leadership has been generally a peaceful one, but knock on wood, because Splashstar knows it has only begun.
